The Simple Joys in Life

I passed an ice cream shop on one of my meditative photo walks, with rangefinder camera in hand and eyes alert.

It was the child’s outreached hand that caught my attention. The parents were busy studying flavors and options, but the child was a perfect expression of longing and desire.

For what child doesn’t like ice cream.

I snapped the photo and moments after I watched as the little one was handed an ice cream cone. Such simple joy on her face. Such delight.

I’ve always loved ice cream shops because they make people happy. And Lord knows we can use more happy in this broken world.

Go visit an ice cream shop. Order your favorite flavor. Take your time.

The simple joys in life are always the best.
