I Think We’ve Lost Something
I was in San Francisco wandering with my camera when I noticed a couple ask a gentleman for directions.
It took me back.
Back to those days before smart phones and GPS when we consulted maps and people to find our way. And sometimes wonderful and impromptu conversations would unfold. And often the kindness of strangers left a sense that most people are good and kind hearted and want to help.
But there’s less of that now.
We consult our phones. No need to talk to anyone. Which is a shame.
I think we’ve lost something. At least on this day in the city, I was able to capture a moment that took me back in time. To a simpler time. Maybe we got lost more back then, but oh, the adventures along the way.
